My background in the corporate environment over a 30 year period was in project management and customer relations. In that arena I had projects that took three to six months to complete where I had to coordinate schedules of people from four to six different companies, be it different telephone companies to building contractors and company executives. As one can imagine it takes a lot of negotiating finesse and follow up and follow through to keep everyone on the same page. I started out in Tupperware just wanting a discount. Then it was something to get me out of the house a couple nights a month. Thing changed over the years. I did not know it at the time but it would become a full time career for me. It would have to in order for me to be the stay at home mom that I wanted to be.

Everyone has changes in their life. Life is a roller coaster we all have ups and downs. One day I came home as the happy housewife, hours later I would found out my husband had emptied our bank accounts and had not paid any bills in a long time. I was pregnant, had a stack of bills at the door and no money in the bank. At that point my life and my business was in the toilet. I had not had a “real job” in over 7 years. I had not truly worked my Tupperware business in over a year and my account was about to go inactive. I needed money and I needed it now. I found myself hitting the streets and looking for a “real job”. I was not having any luck at all.

One day I was sitting and reading the help wanted ads and crying. I got a phone call asking me what was going on and I told her everything. We talked for a very long time then she said something so simple “Well if you need money now hold a party now!” It was that simple. I got off the phone with her and called a friend she held one 2 days later. I saw that there was money in Tupperware. There had always been I just needed to work my business. Later that week I signed DIQ papers. In 3 weeks I went from being an Inactive Consultant to a Tupperware Director in Qualification and started making the money I needed to buy myself a new truck and pay the bills. Six months after that I became a director. I earned a trip to Hawaii or Disneyworld. Now I get money towards a Vehicle of my choice or I can pick one of the company vehicles. I have earned so many family vacations and gifts.

In college I volunteered for the local Battered Women’s Shelter identifying the standards of how community organizations, faith communities and workplaces assist victims of domestic violence.

    In August 1999 I participated in the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day in New York in which I raised over $2,500 and walked 60 miles to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Ten months later in June 2000 I participated in the same event in Boston, again raising over $2,500 and walking 60 miles. After 10 years, and travelling on my own breast cancer journey for the past 10 months, in October 2009 I will be participating yet again in the Breast Cancer 3 Day benefitting Susan G Komen for the Cure. I will be walking 60 miles again and my goal is to raise $5,000 this time. I fully intend to reach, if not surpass, that goal. Although when I first did these walks in 1999 and 2000 I did not have a personal experience with breast cancer, participating in these events forever changed my life. I realized that if I could raise over $3,000 and walk 120 miles (more than that when you consider training!!) in the course of a 12 month period, I could do absolutely anything! I never looked back.

    In 2001 I was a co-creator and charter member of the Women’s Interactive Network (WIN) at my firm. Along with 10 outstanding women I helped create a mission, vision and goals for the networking organization specifically designed for women. This group acknowledged what is important to working women, recognized how women’s needs and ideas for success are different, and offered a valuable space for women to encourage, support and mentor each other in their professions. We organized networking events with other groups, arranged for speakers to share their wisdom, and created book clubs in which women could share with each other and grow in trust.

    In 2002 I was the Chair of the Eighteenth annual Delaware Women’s Conference, the longest tenured, all volunteer run Women’s Conference in the United States. The Delaware Women’s Conference started in 1984 and has brought women of various ages, ethnic and economic backgrounds together to learn, network, relax and grow by offering diverse workshops, an inspirational keynote speaker, various exhibitors, a women’s art show, and a safe place to share and empower each other. I headed a steering committee of over 12 subcommittees and we created an amazing event that offered 30 workshops, over 70 vendors, and a wonderful keynote address by author Erica Jong. There were over 1,000 in attendance at the event!!! My seven month old daughter attended her very first women’s conference that year!

    Being the charter Area Coordinator of the Heart Link Network for the state of Delaware is an honor and a privilege, and a responsibility I take very seriously.   • My first taste of leadership was also one of the most rewarding - women's ministry through MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) when my kids were younger. MOPS gives moms of young children ages birth-Kindergarten a chance to connect, grow, share, and just be themselves in a comfortable atmosphere. During my time with MOPS, I began by handling the accounting and registrations, eventually chairing our local organization. I led a steering committee that served over 100 women. When a group became too large, I helped plant new MOPS Chapters to serve more women in the community.

    Having the opportunity to serve my community and share what I love with other ladies who have fabulous businesses, is just such a unique opportunity. It's been a blessing to so many already.

I am a certified Personal Fitness Trainer, an Isagenix consultatn and a "MOM"! I have been in the health and fitness industry for 20 years. After teaching group fitness for 20 years, I made my jump to starting and owning my own Personal Training business out of my home. Personal Training is my passion! Teaching people what amazing things our bodies can do for us is what I love. I love to see people get their bodies moving and educating them into how to take better care of themselves. I grew up in KC and went to a Christian school most of my life. Once I graduated high school in 1987, I moved to St. Joe, MO and lived there for 14 years. I graduated from court reporting school in 1996 and married my husband, Mat, in 1997. We moved back to the KC area around 2002. We have a beautiful three-year-old daughter named Olivia Hope. My bio:
Hi, I'm Miranda Gray. I love opening my heart and home to others and that is exactly what The Heart Link Network allows me to do. My first meeting was in July and everyone had such a great time! The women who attended were amazing. At first I thought this was going to be difficult but I discovered it is fun and exciting instead. I have 16 women confirmed on my roster for next month and only 4 spots available and I am 3 weeks out from my next event! I have made less than 5 phone calls and handed out a hand full of invitations. The word is spreading like wild fire and women are almost fighting for the available spots!
After college I worked for the State of Missouri, Department of Social Services in a lock down facility with teens in the system. The State of Missouri is one of the only states that put their incarcerated teens in a structured environment, provide them with education and try to teach them responsibility, what is right and wrong, and that it isn't too late to turn their lives around! It was very rewarding but not that safe so when I started a family I stepped away from that career.
I have been married for 5 years to a wonderful husband who gives me strength and courage every day. I also have two beautiful daughters that fill my life with joy. I love being a full time mom. It is very rewarding, sometimes exhausting, but I wouldn't change it for anything in the world! I believe it is my responsibility and privilege to raise my daughters. There is nothing more important to me than family, and as long as we have each other, we have all we need!
I am also a very proud consultant for Isagenix International. It is an international total Health and Wellness company. I have had the great pleasure of leading my women´s networking group for over 2 years now. I began a group in Austin, Texas, because my long time friend, Sherry Roden, suggested I try it and I simply loved it. I discovered that I had a passion to help connect women. When my wonderful and supportive husband of 10 years, Chris, was transferred to Sherman, Texas, it was a complete blessing to have The Heart Link Network because it enabled me to quickly get involved with my new community and start meeting great women.
