Women Networking Community Location Page
- What happens at a Heart Link Women’s Networking event?
-
The Heart Link Women’s Networking meeting begins with a light meal and socializing. After the meal, the professional networking begins. Participants get 3 minutes to showcase themselves and their businesses, and distribute literature. After the formal networking many women make appointments to get together to talk business, and share more deeply.
- Should I attend alone or with a friend?
-
Come linked. Bring your appetite, enthusiasm, business cards, brochures or marketing materials, but most of all, bring a friend. You are going to have the time of your life meeting extraordinary women. You are going to want to share this great experience with someone.
- How do I make a reservation?
-
You can email, call or simply pop a check in the mail to me, your Heart Link Women Networking Area Coordinator (with your business card if you want, or just a note introducing yourself and what line of business you represent). Please remember, most events are industry exclusive, which means only one person may represent each industry, so space fills up quickly! Your payment IS your reservation.
- Is there a high upfront membership fee for me to be able to attend Heart Link Women Networking events?
-
No. It only costs $20 to attend, with NO upfront membership requirements, and if you bring a new guest each time, it only costs each of you $15. Each Heart Link Women’s Networking Area Coordinator gives so much when she accepts to lead in your community. For your $20 fee, you receive a valuable and unique opportunity to showcase your business in an intimate and comfortable setting for a full 3 minutes where women actually care and listen.
- What is the appropriate attire for the event and what type of food do you serve?
-
Many women come to the event from work so attire varies from business casual to comfortable. You will have your own bottle of water; a light meal is served - oftentimes a salad with everything on the side, and dessert.
- Monthly Community Appreciation -
-
Each month The Heart Link Women’s Network chooses women of various professions and groups to appreciate from the community. For example: Teachers, Nurses, New Moms, Non-Profit employees, Administrative Assistants, Dental professionals, etc. Be sure to check this page each month to see who is being honored and "come linked" with one of these amazing women so they can be loved and appreciated for all they do in the community.

Welcome to The Heart Link Network®
- My name:
- Lillian Lum
- My Occupation:
- Independent Consultant ID# 115100842 Executive District Manager, Arbonne International www.lillianlum.myarbonne.ca twitter: beautybarvegan
- My Background: (education and business)
- Fashion Design - designed for individuals; wardrobe consulting/design.
- Most inspiring books:
- With limited time, reading a book from cover-to-cover is quite daunting. I have the best of intentions, even joined a book club but never cracked one open. I enjoy reading about people and learning about their journeys - these stories inspire me. Books come alive via CD-format for me - I load them onto my iPod and listen to them while I'm exercising or driving to and from appointments. Need to read "Success Is Not An Accident", Tom Newberry. Have bought a few books, making a list of which to read first.
- Most inspiring person:
- I cannot give credit to just one person for my inspirations. Mom-cooking and sewing; Dad-free spirit, follow your dreams motto; brother-keep your eye on the prize; Mrs. Graham, my high school sewing reacher-encouraging me to enroll in a fashion design program; my husband-deep insight; the list goes on . . .
- Most inspiring quote:
- Be true to yourself. It applies to us all, whether you are a doctor, lawyer, or accountant. If you are true to you, you will be to others, and others will be to you.
- Most inspiring movies:
- Movies contain messages of sorts. It is within these moments that I find inspiration. It can be something as simple as how a child is much more forgiving than adults, etc. "Pay It Forward" comes to mind.
- My secret for success:
- I care about people. This caring attitude resonates in everything that I do. Live passionately. I enjoy engaging in activities with the non-profit sector, helping and giving back. It is very rewarding.
